Hey vehicle enthusiasts, welcome back to my vehicle and motor blog. I just got back from visiting a friend who just got a new 2017 Silverado 1500 from Chevrolet on lease. And he is in love with that truck. Personally, I prefer the Ford F-150 for the best full size pickup, but the Silverado is a great truck in its own right.
Slight changes were made from last years model. With an improved towing system (something Chevrolet is well known for) and many new safety features. You can also choose between a couple special editions; the All Star or Texas editions. Each come with; power adjustable driver seats, remote start, dual zone climate control and a 110 volt AC power socket.
The top of the line Silverado comes with a 6.2 litre V8 engine that is brash, big and powerful not to mention frugal on the gas. Standard is the 4.3 litre V6 that is matched with a six speed automatic. It is quite a big step from the standard 4.3 to the increased 6.2 however with the V8 bringing in 135 more horsepower than its V6 cousin.
The truck doesn’t know how it wants you to feel regarding fuel economy. The EPA numbers are at the top of the charts, and if you actually drive one you can see how little fuel is spent. Surprisingly there is little fuel penalty for choosing the larger of the V8 engines, however when compared to others in its class the 6.2L is a bit of a guzzler. That gas guzzling equals a lot of force though, and that model is capable of getting from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, good for second best in class. A good truck, and fast enough to speed away in. See you later folks.
